Please feel warmly invited to Sofia Duchovny‘s Lecture, as part of “Private Viewing” (January 19 – March 10, 2019), her current solo exhibition at Kunstverein Göttingen. Duchovny’s works are shaped by the ambivalence of private and public, between that which is shown and that which should be shown, between intimacy and authenticity. In her lecture Sofia Duchovny gives an insight into her artistic process, and behind the scenes of an artist’s life.
Sofia Duchovny (*1988 in Moscow) lives and works in Berlin. She finished her studies in 2014 at the Staedelschule in Frankfurt am Main as master student of Monika Baer. In 2016, she participated in the BerlinProgram ForArtists. Her work has been exhibited at Künstlerhaus Bremen (2018), Kunstverein Hannover (2017), Between Bridges (2017) and Kunstverein Braunschweig (2017), amongst others. In 2016 she undertook a residency at HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme in Finland.
